"My Dear Moon" is a must-read book on the life and death of Rear Admiral Don Pardee Moon, who was instrumental in planning the Normandy and Southern France Invasion of 1944. Jonathan P. Alter and Daniel Crouch use a 'verbatim' style of writing, drawing on e-mail interviews of veterans, primary source documents from the Moon family, old historical newspapers and Government documents - some obtained via Freedom of Information Act requests. Alter and Crouch present a strong case of the cause of the man's death.
